The Open Hearth Kitchen
Step into The Open Hearth, where the aromas, stories, and traditions of Belizean cuisine come to life in a hands-on cooking experience like no other. Each weekday spotlights a different culture from Mestizo Mondays to Maya Fridays through hands-on cooking guided by local experts in a traditional thatched-roof “Bush Kitchen.”
To keep the experience engaging, the classes only run for at most two hours. We’ll learn recipes, hear the history behind each dish, and cook with ingredients that can be replicated at home. Afterward, gather around the table to enjoy your creations, with friends and family welcome to join for lunch.
Guests leave not only with new kitchen skills but with spice packets, printed recipes, and a deeper connection to Belize’s vibrant cultural tapestry.
